DELE Certification Overview
The Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE) represent the most prestigious and comprehensive assessment of Spanish language proficiency available worldwide. These official certifications are awarded by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education and Vocational Training, providing lifetime validation of language competency across six proficiency levels aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2.
Each DELE examination comprehensively evaluates candidates across four fundamental language skills: reading comprehension, listening comprehension, written expression and interaction, and oral expression and interaction – offering a thorough assessment of a candidate’s Spanish language abilities. The structure of the examination varies slightly according to level, with different time allocations and complexity levels appropriate to each proficiency stage, but all follow a systematic evaluation methodology designed to accurately measure language competency against established international standards.
Our DELE preparation course is taught in small groups (for levels B1, B2, and C1) or private classes (for levels A1, A2, and C2) and is designed for students seeking to obtain the official Spanish diploma.
This course structure allows for personalized attention and tailored instruction to meet the specific needs of each student. The small group format for B1, B2, and C1 levels fosters interactive learning and peer support, while private classes for A1, A2, and C2 levels provide one-on-one instruction that can be particularly beneficial for students requiring more intensive guidance or those with unique learning needs. Our courses are specifically designed to help students achieve the highest possible results in the DELE examination, ensuring they are well-prepared to demonstrate their Spanish language proficiency effectively.
SIELE Certification Explained
The International Service for Spanish Language Evaluation (SIELE) represents a more flexible and modern approach to Spanish certification, particularly appealing to candidates seeking rapid assessment and certification. Unlike the DELE’s level-based structure, SIELE provides a progressive scoring system that precisely identifies a candidate’s position on the CEFR scale (A1 to C2) through a unified examination process.
The SIELE Global examination comprises four distinct test sections: Reading Comprehension (60 minutes, with 5 tasks and 38 questions), Listening Comprehension (55 minutes, featuring 6 tasks and 38 questions), Written Expression and Interaction (50 minutes, consisting of 2 writing tasks), and Oral Expression and Interaction (15 minutes, containing 5 speaking tasks). Each section carries a maximum score of 250 points, with the first two sections scored automatically while the written and oral components are evaluated by accredited SIELE scorers, ensuring consistent and objective assessment of productive language skills. A significant advantage of SIELE lies in its flexibility, allowing candidates to take either the complete examination or select specific skill combinations based on their particular needs and certification requirements.
At Inhispania, SIELE preparation is conducted exclusively through private classes, offering you a completely flexible and personalized experience.
